These N.J. homes sold for more than $200K over asking price - NJ.com

Low inventory and buyers eager to lock in a home before interest rates rise even more continued to drive up prices in April when the median sales price of a home in New Jersey was $460,000, according to the most recent data available from New Jersey Realtors.

A sampling of closings from the last week of May by NJ Advance Media showed a bunch of houses sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars over the asking price - ranging from 20% to 40% above listing prices.

Homes in New Jersey in April were selling statewide for 103.5% of asking price, according to the most recent data from New Jersey Realtors.
